"Turn away from your sins and believe the Good News !” Mk 1, 14-20

This Sunday, our sisters from the community of Hati in India share their light with us:

Mk 1:14-20

Jesus calls four Fishermen.

After John had been put in prison, Jesus went to Galilee and preached the Good News from God. “The right time has come”, he said, “and the Kingdom of God is near ! Turn away from your sins and believe the Good News !”

As Jesus walked along the shore of Lake Galilee, he saw two fishermen, Simon and his brother Andrew, catching fish with a net. Jesus said to them, “Come with me, and I will teach you to catch men”. At once they left their nets and went with him.

He went a little-farth

er on and saw two other brothers, James and John, the sons of Zebedee. They were in their boat getting their nets ready. As soon as Jesus saw them, he called them; they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and went with Jesus.

The attitude of Jesus Christ to continue the mission. :

- Need person so he called Fisher men they were from Galilee. The Galilee people are far from society and from God but Jesus choose from Galilee four person to continue his mission.

- They were the first disciples, as we receive the Prado grace to follow Jesus Christ and to continue the Prado charism.

- To know Jesus Christ and make Him known but in present situation is not easy to proclaim the good news. We have to be keep courage and faith to be strong in our vocation. Thank you from Hati community.

- Jesus starts his ministry by saying that the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near : “repent and believe in the good news. "

- Jesus calls his first disciple for his mission (Peter and Andrew and then James and John)

- Jesus said to them "follow me" and then they followed him immediately by leaving everything.

FOLLOW ME AND I WILL MAKE YOU FISH PEOPLE.

- I feel that Jesus called me to be his follower and spread the good news that he did.

- As I have left everything like the first disciples to follow Christ through the life style of the sisters of Prado.

- It was not easy to leave everything in life and follow Christ for the first disciples, they faced lots of problems as they were spreading the good news. And I too feel in my life that following Christ is not easy yet I believe in Christ and that's the reason I said yes to Jesus like the first disciples and followed everything in life and cling to Jesus alone.

- For Jesus, all human work are necessary to welcome God's salvation. Our work, God needs it and it is a way for Him to come closer to others.

- He called brothers, the fraternity is at the service of the proclamation of the Good News. The brothers were able to further consolidate their natural bond to become a spiritual bond. They are even more brothers in being at the service of love.

- Here we can clearly see that Jesus respects the work, the bond of the person but he develops it more, he gives them a sense of their profession and their capacity: "To become fishers of men".

- The 4 men did not hesitate in the adventure: "they left the net, parent ..." to put into practice this program that is proposed to them: "to become a fisherman".

Appeal:

God is counting on each of us, on what we do daily to share the good news.

To build a true fraternity, the Lord does not ask for anything other than what we already have but he renews us when we are ready to follow him.
